Reverend Dean Noakes

Dean, eldest son of Bern & Marilyn Noakes, was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario. He has one younger sister, Wendy, who is an ER nurse at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, Ontario. Wendy, her husband, Al, and their three boys live in Brantford.

Dean married his college sweetheart, Donna Marie Harding, in Fredericton, New Brunswick on August 26, 1983. Together they have two daughters: Jenna and Alanna.

Dean’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree, Biblical & Theological concentration, from The Salvation Army, William & Catherine Booth College, Winnipeg, and a Master of Divinity degree from the McMaster Divinity College, Hamilton.

Pastoral ministry has taken the Noakes from Riverdale Baptist Church, Brantford, through a short interim with Mount Pleasant Presbyterian & Knox Presbyterian, Brantford, to Hanover Baptist Church & Neustadt Baptist Church in the Owen Sound Association of Baptist Churches and Associate Minister at Bilberry Creek Baptist Church. Dean was ordained in 2000 while at Riverdale Baptist.

Music and sports are great pasttimes for Dean. His favourite composer is Gustav Mahler, and favourite jazz performer is guitarist Pat Methany. Keith and Kristyn Getty or Paul Baloche are also good Christian choices. Some of his favourite authors include Chuck Colson, J.I. Packer, Francis A. Schaeffer, C.S. Lewis and D. Martin Lloyd-Jones. In scripture he gravitates to the Gospel according to John, Psalms & Proverbs, and the epistles of John, Peter & Paul to Timothy.

Who would his preferred preacher be? Either one of the father and son team of Charles and Andy Stanley, or Alastair Begg.
